2. Bundesliga club FC Köln have announced the signing of Schalke midfielder Johannes Geis on a six month deal until the end of the season. Both clubs chose not to disclose details of the transfer.
Speaking to the clubs website, Geis revealed how he is fully focused on winning promotion with his new employers: “The goal for the rest of the season is clear: we want to get promoted. I have real desire to make this happen and play my part in achieving our goal.”
The 25-year-old will link up with Markus Anfang & Co. as he looks to help win promotion back to the Bundesliga with second placed Köln.
It looks to be a low risk move for Köln, as if Geis fails to perform for the remainder of the campaign the club will let his contract run down.
