1. FC Köln have announced the dismissal of head coach Markus Anfang and his coaching team. Despite sitting top of the table, the Billy Goats are winless in four games.
André Pawlak will, along with Manfred Schmid, will take charge of the 2. Bundesliga club until the end of the season.
“My Köln heart is sad, as my clear goal was to go up together with FC. The team will, without doubt, get over the line in the final three games – because the position in the table is good. I must accept the decision, even when it is naturally tough. I thank everyone who supported me and wish the club all the best for the future,” said Anfang.
