Marcus Thuram recalls first meeting with Borussia Mönchengladbach coach Marco Rose

Speaking in an interview with Sport Bild, Borussia Mönchengladbach forward Marcus Thuram recalls his first meeting with head coach Marco Rose and how he differs from his previous managers.

“For the first time, I talked to a coach about football without feeling like a student who was just listening,” said Thuram.

“Coaches are usually firm during such conversations but with Marco, it was different. It was a conversation at eye level. We exchanged opinions and discussed a lot of things. That was really cool and that’s why I’m so happy to see him almost every day now.”

Rose has received praise for the way his Borussia Mönchengladbach side play football with the Bundesliga club challenging RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund at the top of the table.

“What I like is that Marco lives and breathes football,” added Thuram. “He’s always 100 percent passionate about every training session and sometimes he’s even crazier than I am!”
