Anthony Modeste confirmed in an interview with Sport Bild that he received offers from both Schalke 04 and VfB Stuttgart before choosing to re-sign for 2. Bundesliga club FC Köln.
The Frenchman admitted he didn’t want to play in the second division but Köln made it clear they wanted their former striker back to strengthen their promotion chances.
“I never really wanted to play in the second division. I had requests from Schalke and Stuttgart but also from Galatasaray, Fenerbahce and Besiktas,” said Modeste.
