Alexander Nübel has agreed a five-year contract with Bayern Munich

Schalke goalkeeper Alexander Nübel has reached an agreement with Bayern Munich to join the club on a free transfer, according to Bild.

The 23-year-old will join Bayern in the summer on a five-year contract and will serve as a No. 2 to Manuel Neuer but will still receive substantial playing time.

Bayern Munich had identified the German stopper as a transfer target in the summer but whilst the negotiations were advanced, no move came to fruition with Nübel’s contract expiring in 2020.

According to Süddeutsche Zeitung, Bayern Munich haven’t excluded the possibility of loaning Nübel out to another club.

Schalke have also confirmed that Nübel will leave the club at the end of the season, but don’t mention any destination.
