Sportbuzzer report that Maxwel Cornet to VfL Wolfsburg has fallen through after Lyon vetoed the move following Mariano’s departure to Real Madrid & their failure to sign Nicolas Pépé.
Jörg Schmadtke was looking at making Cornet his last signing of the summer, but with the deal cancelled he will not be dipping into the market for another player.
Wolfsburg sporting director Jörg Schmadtke said: “This is the topic done, I can not change it. We ran several options in parallel and eventually decided to go with Cornet.”
