Hamburger SV midfielder Walace is reportedly on strike, according to Bild. The Brazil international is wanted on loan by Flamengo, while Walace missed his flight from Hamburg to Jerez for a training camp, citing personal reasons.
Following the news, HSV sporting director Jens Todt released the following statement.
“We are pleased that everyone has returned in good condition. Regarding Walace, he has extended his holiday without permission. We will be expecting him in Spain shortly, and then his misconduct will be accordingly sanctioned.
“Walace informed us of his decision beforehand, citing personal problems. We did not accept this and we are in contact with both him and his advisor.”
