Anthony Modeste could be set for a return to the Bundesliga after becoming unhappy with life in China, according to Sport Bild.
Wolfsburg lead the chase to sign the 30-year-old where he will link up with former FC Köln sporting director, Jörg Schmadtke, the man responsible for bringing him to Cologne.
A return to Germany is not totally out of the question for Modeste, who is currently playing for Chinese side Tianjin Quanjian. His family still live in Germany and since his move to China he has failed to show the same type of form that earned him a big money move.
This is only speculation at this stage, as Tianjin Quanjian have an obligation to buy Modeste from FC Köln, before they’re able to sell him on.
