Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Arsenal – the situation

The Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Arsenal saga continues. Last night, Bild reported that the Gabon international had demanded: ‘Let me go’ with the striker having told BVB bosses prior to their match against Bayern Munich that he would like to leave the club, per the report.

Aubameyang missed Dortmund’s 0-0 draw against Wolfsburg on Sunday for ‘disciplinary reasons’ after he missed a team meeting with sporting director Michael Zorc seemingly unhappy with his actions: “At some point you can’t tolerate it [a lack of discipline] anymore. I don’t know what’s going on inside his head. We had a very contentious discussion today. We’re not used to this behaviour from him. It can’t go on like this. I don’t know what is going through his mind. I don’t recognise him anymore.”

Any move for Aubameyang would prompt Borussia Dortmund to find a replacement, of which Sport Bild have reported they could try and include Olivier Giroud in the deal, whom they were interested in signing throughout the summer.
