Schalke has extended the contracts of captain Ralf Fährmann and centre-back Matija Nastasic until June 2022. The two players have been key in Schalke’s success in attaining Champions League football for the coming year.
“Matija Nastasic is Mr Reliable for me; calm, solid, tough in the tackle, yet always with an eye on attack. For Schalke and our coach Domenico he is a very important player, so we are glad that Matija sees his future at Schalke. 13 clean sheets – only Ralf Fährmann managed this in the Bundesliga last season. Ralle wants to see his career out at Schalke,” said sporting director Christian Heidel.
