No bid from Arsenal for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has confirmed that they have not received an offer from Arsenal for Gabon international Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

However, Aubameyang’s emission of the Dortmund squad for their game against Hertha BSC has further fuelled speculation that a move to the Premier League club is imminent, according to Bild.

Zorc said: “We find it disrespectful to speak about players of other clubs. There is no contact from Arsenal. We assume that is because Arsène Wenger has enough to do to take care of the performance of his own players.

“He’s practicing in Dortmund, we felt, that he is not a 100 Percent with his mind focused. We’ll see, if this will help him. It’s a difficult situation.”

According to reports in both France and Germany, Dortmund are interested in signing Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud on a six-month loan deal before signing Aubameyang’s replacement in the summer – rather than Giroud being any part of a potential swap deal.
