Hertha Berlin striker Davie Selke has been ruled out indefinitely after suffering a chest injury, while training on Saturday.
Tests have confirmed that the 23-year-old has suffered a pneumothorax injury and therefore, will miss the start of the new season.
“His absence obviously hurts us. We will pull through together as a team and I wish a speedy recovery so that he returns to us soon,” said head coach Pál Dárdai.
Selke was instrumental in the club’s top-half finish last season. He made a total of 31 appearances, scoring 14 goals and registering four assists
