Zinedine Zidane downgrades the importance of signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

A report by Bild has suggested that Zinedine Zidane has downgraded the importance of signing Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The report says the Zidane doesn’t see him as the correct fit for the team, which means the club may not make a move for him once their transfer sanctions are lifted.

Bild report that Aubameyang’s name has been mentioned in meetings, whilst Zidane feels as though he has sufficient cover in attacking areas, which could hinder a potential move.

Should a potential offer come in from Real Madrid, Aubameyang has already told press over summer that the capital club would be the only move he would make, after making a promise to his grandfather.

Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City still both remain interested in signing the forward.

EDIT / 19:58: Now that Real Madrid have pulled out of the transfer race to sign Aubameyang, Paris Saint-Germain could be a likely destination, should he chose to leave Borussia Dortmund in the summer.

It has been reported that the fee would be around €80 million, per Bild.
