VfL Wolfsburg complete Yunus Malli signing

VfL Wolfsburg have completed the signing of Yunus Mallli from 1. FSV Mainz 05 on a deal until 2021. Whilst both clubs remained to undisclosed the fee, reports suggest it’s around €12.5 million.

“We are delighted that we could convince Yunus Malli of the route we are taking here at VfL Wolfsburg. In him we now have a further alternative in a centrally attacking position. He already has over 100 Bundesliga games under his belt and he also has international experience with the Turkish national team and with Mainz in the Europa League. In addition, he is an absolute team players,” expressed, sporting director Olaf Rebbe.

Head Coach Valérien Ismaël: “With Yunus Malli, we have won further flexibility and strength in the attacking areas, whilst naturally adding to the competition for places in the midfield. He is dangerous in front of goal, which is made clear by the number of assists he provides, and he also possesses quality from dead-ball situations. It’s also an advantage that he is very familiar with the Bundesliga and won’t need much time to adjust.”
