Omer Toprak will leave Bayer Leverkusen in the summer

Omer Toprak has confirmed he will be leaving Bayer Leverkusen in the summer after spending the past six years at the Bundesliga club.

Borussia Dortmund have been heavily linked with the central defender, and whilst Thomas Tuchel’s side seems a likely destination, Liverpool could also be a possibility.

Clubs are now able to trigger Toprak’s release clause of around €12 million, which is entering its final year.

“I want to have a good and successful farewell here. Like every year, I try to give it my all. I have been here for a very, very long time and my focus was solely on the training camp so that we can play our football and be successful in the second half of the season,” Toprak told reporters in the mixed zone.
