VfL Wolfsburg have completed the signing of William from Brazilian club SC Internacional Porto Alegre. The 22-year-old has signed a five-year deal.
The right-back is vastly experienced in domestic football with over 100 games for his now former club, whilst he also has three caps for Brazil, winning Gold at the Olympic Games in Rio last year.
“We have been intensively scouting William for quite some time. He is a young player with a great deal of potential for development – for which reason we are very happy to have been able to bind him to VfL for the long-term,” says Wolfsburg sporting director Olaf Rebbe.
William told the club’s website: “I am looking forward to Wolfsburg. VfL is a very well-known club in Brazil. Many great players, such as Grafite, Josue, Diego or Naldo were successful there. My top-priority now is to get to know everything as quickly as possible and get integrated into the team.”
