Official Statement: Fake Accounts

Over the last two weeks, a series of “fake accounts” on social media site Twitter have been produced by a number of individuals, illegally impersonating the Get Football brand.

Get Football has been made aware of the name of every single individual who has created one of these “fake accounts”, generally designed to use the well-established brands of Get French Football News and Get German Football News to spread disinformation.

To our loyal followership across the Get German Football News and Get French Football News platforms, we regret that any of you might have unfortunately been duped by these malicious activities and inform you today that we have taken steps to pursue legal proceedings against the individuals concerned in order to remedy the situation as swiftly as possible.

To the individuals responsible for these “fake accounts” we request that you cease your actions and deactivate the accounts in question immediately.

The respective penalties for breach of copyright, defamation and libel in the majority of EU countries under their respective laws can include the payment of substantial damages and criminal sanctions including imprisonment.
