Borussia Dortmund have extended the contract of Shinji Kagawa until 2020. The 28-year-old had just one year remaining on his current contract before putting pen-to-paper on the extension.
“BVB and the incredible fans have a place in my heart. I’m delighted to continue to be a part of this incredible club in one of the best leagues in the world,” sporting director Michael Zorc told Japanese journalists as they arrived for the Asia tour.
“We’re very fortunate that Shinji has decided to play for us for a further three years. Shinji identifies with our club, the city and the fans. He’S also an important role model for our young team.”
The Japan international has won two Bundesliga titles and two DFB Pokal’s during his two spells at BVB.
