Konstantin Rausch and Matthias Lehmann sign 1. FC Köln contract extensions

1. FC Köln have extended the contracts of Konstantin Rausch and club captain, Matthias Lehmann on deals until 2021 and 2019 respectively.

Rausch signed for the club in 2015 from SV Darmstadt 98 and his since gone on to play 41 games in all competitions, while Lehmann has featured in eight of Cologne’s nine Bundesliga games this season.

“I have always said that I would like to end my career at 1. FC Köln. It has worked wonderfully in the past few years. The current situation does not change that. I also happen to be convinced that we can get out of this difficult phase,” Lehmann told the club’s website.

Head coach Peter Stöger added: “Looking at both the sporting side and the character of these two players, they have a high importance in our team. We are very happy to know that they want to continue to be part of this team.”
