Jürgen Klopp on Hoffenheim: They are strong and that’s how it should be

Tuesday night will see the Champions League clash of TSG 1899 Hoffenheim vs Liverpool. The eagerly anticipated tie will see Jürgen Klopp go up against Julian Nagelsmann, with the Liverpool coach stating he’s now the “old horse in the stable.”

“I am pleased for my agent because I’m the old horse in the stable and there is a young horse now in Nagelsmann,” Klopp told reporters.

His opposite number is Nagelsmann, who at 30-years-old has guided Hoffenheim to Champions League football for the first time in their history.

“I’ve known Hoffenheim since 2007/08 when they got promoted instead of Mainz. We were fourth, they were third. They are strong, we are strong and that’s how it should be. Both have big aims.”

Liverpool’s biggest omission from their Champions League tie is Philippe Coutinho, who didn’t travel to Germany with the Premier League club.
