Jupp Heynckes has confirmed that Bayern Munich have approached their former treble-winning head coach over the vacant position at the Allianz Arena following Carlo Ancelotti’s dismissal.
However, WELT has learned that the 72-year-old wants his former assistant coach, Peter Hermann to also rejoin the club. The stumbling block here is that Hermann is currently top of the 2. Bundesliga with Fortuna Düsseldorf, where he is a co-trainer.
Reports from WELT also suggest that Heynckes is in Düsseldorf to hold a meeting, of which F95 would demand a large compensation fee.
Louis van Gaal, Thomas Tuchel and Julian Nagelsmann have all been linked.
