After Benedikt Höwedes confirmed a number clubs are interested in signing him, Bild reported on Thursday that Inter Milan are leading the chase to sign the German.
Tensions have been growing after Höwedes was relieved of his captain duties, while he also sat out of Schalke’s opening 2-0 win against RB Leipzig.
Inter have offered the German a three-year deal worth €12m while the fee is believed to be around €5m.
