Borussia Dortmund not interested in loaning out Mikel Merino

Borussia Dortmund have no intention of loaning Mikel Merino to VfB Stuttgart, according to WAZ’ Sebastian Weßling. During BVB’s break in Marbella, the young Spaniard has impressed during the friendlies, where he has convinced Thomas Tuchel.

“It will certainly not be easy to get him, as many clubs are interested. It would be great if we could convince the player to join VfB,” Stuttgart coach Hannes Wolf told Stuttgarter Nachrichten.

Merino’s former club, Osasuna, has shown interest in bringing him back to Spain on loan, whilst Bundesliga side 1. FC Köln could be a candidate.
