Despite Italian football writer Emanuele Giulianelli claiming on Twitter that Liverpool were to table an offer for 1. FC Köln defender Jonas Hector, it appears the 26-year-old will be staying in Germany for now.
Sport Bild’s Florian Wichert claims on his own Twitter account that Hector wishes to fulfil his contract, which runs until 2018.
Wichert quotes Hector as saying: “I never said anything to the contrary” and said, on the subject of a move, that they would “clarify the issue internally.”
