Hans Watzke: I will ‘fight’ Uli Hoeneß if he returns as Bayern’s president

Borussia Dortmund’s sporting director Hans-Joachim Watzke has revealed that he will congratulate his old adversary Uli Hoeneß if the latter returns as Bayern Munich president but would also continue his verbal duels with him just like before.

Hoeneß was sentenced to a prison term in 2014 after he’d admitted to a tax fraud of more than €30 million.

The 64 year old was released from prison earlier this year and has since indicated that he would run for Bayern Presidency again.

“Hoeneß will come back, it can be assumed,” Watzke told Sky Sport Germany.

“When he comes back, I’ll call him, of course, and congratulate him, and then we will work together again, very well, and sometimes we’ll fight each other just like before.” BVB boss concluded.

The Bayern Munich presidency re-election will take place in November 2016 and there are no other candidates at the moment.
