Arsenal interested in Shkodran Mustafi

Following an injury to Per Mertesacker which could see the German out for a number of months, Arsene Wenger has turned to Valencia’s Shkodran Mustafi.

The Arsenal manager has already made contact with the Spanish club, according to Plaza Deportiva, whilst Wenger has admitted that the club will look at their options.

Mustafi to Arsenal is a move that journalist Jan Aage Fjortoft has endorsed, who tweeted: “Makes sense that Arsenal will look the German-way (again). With Mertesacker out and quality centre halves hard to find.”

Wenger will also look towards Hoffenheim’s Fabian Schär, according to the Daily Mirror.

On Thursday, according to Sky Deutschland, Arsenal have opened talks with the defender for a fee of around €30m plus €9m + in add-ons.
