Alen Halilovic has revealed that he is happy at Hamburg and is not focussing on a potential return to FC Barcelona at the end of the 2016-17 season.
Halilovic signed for Hamburg from Barcelona for €5million on a permanent deal but the La Liga champions inserted a buy-back clause into his contract that can be activated at the end of the season for a fee of €3million.
However, Halilovic says that he is totally concentrated on the season ahead with Hamburg.
“I’m not thinking about whether Barca is going to exercise their buy-back option. I’m only interested with what’s here and now,”
“At the moment everything is excellent. I’ve been received very well, and I have team-mates who speak Croatian which helps greatly,”
“I’ll continue to concentrate only on football, and consequently work, the reason I signed from Barcelona in the first place.”
“I like to play and isolate one-on-one, and to gamble a little when passing, similarly to Lionel Messi.” he said.
Halilovic spent the last season on loan at La Liga club Sporting Gijon, scoring 3 goals and assisting 5 in 36 league matches.
