FC Augsburg have officially confirmed the reported on signing of Nigerian striker Uchenna Ogundu. If Turkish news sources are to be believed, the 19-year-old has cost the German Fuggerstädter a signifiant amount of money.
Turkish footballing journalist Ertan Süzgün claims that Augsburg have paid a base-transfer-fee of €4.5m to acquire Ogundu. This can rise as high as €6.5m with performance bonuses and Ogundu’s Turkish outfit Alanyaspor have secured a generous re-sale clause.
Ogundu is the fourth striker Augsburg have acquired in the winter window
The Bavarian Swabians have already signed Portuguese youngster Rodrigo Ribeiro and veteran Austrian front-man Michael Gregoritsch. Additionally, Stuttgart reservist Thomas Kastanaras also arrived on deadline day. Gregoritisch has already made a big impact, bagging a brace in Augsburg’s weekend win over relegation rivals FC St. Pauli.
