The Times report that Thomas Tuchel is expected to sign a contract extension to remain England head coach beyond the summer until 2028.
Tuchel’s new deal, which could be confirmed before today’s 2026/27 UEFA Nations League draw, would see the 52-year-old remain in charge until after Euro 2028, which will be hosted by England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
The former Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Bayern Munich head coach was appointed England head coach in October 2024, with the German – England’s third non-British manager after Sven-Goran Eriksson and Fabio Capello – starting his role in January 2025 on an 18 month contract.
Speaking in October 2024, Tuchel said: “I am very proud to have been given the honour of leading the England team.
“I have long felt a personal connection to the game in this country, and it has given me some incredible moments already.
“To have the chance to represent England is a huge privilege, and the opportunity to work with this special and talented group of players is very exciting.”
Now, England and Tuchel are set to extend their cooperation until 2028.
