Following Saturday evening MRIs, Eintracht Frankfurt have furnished updates on injured players Arnaud Kalimuendo and Rasmus Kristensen. There’s unexpected good news with respect to striker Kalimuendo, but unfortunately additional worries in the Eintracht defensive corps after Kristensen’s examination.
Rasmus Kristensen out long-term
Eintracht’s statement merely noted that the Danish fullback’s ankle injury required “further examination“. Sport Bild nevertheless claims that Kristensen has suffered a serious ligament injury that will keep him sidelined for several months, possibly even through the end of the season.
The German tabloid notes that the “further examinations” essentially count as Eintracht’s attempts to desperately seek a second opinion. Following the news that defender Arthur Theate is also likely to miss several months, the RheinMainAdler hope not to lose another regular.
Aranud Kalimuendo’s to be back soon
“Examinations have shown that his shoulder injury is not serious,” a Sunday-released SGE statement read. “A long-term absence is not currently expected.“
