Wolfsburg confirm disciplinary suspension for Algerian attacker Mohamed Amoura

VfL Wolfsburg have confirmed another disciplinary suspension for Algerian attacker Mohamed Amoura. The 25-year-old was not included in the matchday selection for this evening’s Bundesliga fixture against 1. FC Köln for reasons not elaborated upon just yet. Wolfsburg nevertheless noted that Amoura’s absence was related to misconduct.

Amoura has had problems in the past

Amoura has already been discipled by his German club due to a physical altercation with a teammate last spring.Ultimately, however, the German Wolves opted not to suspend their attacker after the incident came to light. Amoura ended up not missing any Bundesliga matches as the 2024/25 campaign drew to a close.

Denis Vavro also escapes suspension

In part due to the urgent need for assistance in central defense, Slovakian international Denis Vavro has also not been omitted from any matchday squads after it was revealed that he had a physical altercation with a minor during a charity match in his native country over the Christmas break.

Vavro has featured in head coach Daniel Bauer’s starting XI in two consecutive fixtures, including the Friday evening encounter against Köln. No measures beyond a stern talking-to have been taken.
