Florian Plettenberg reports that Irish striker Michael Noonan will not be joining TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. The Bundesliga’s Kraichgauer had been rigorously targeting the 17-year-old Ireland U21 international, but Plettenberg claims that Noonan’s family weren’t keen on him moving to Germany.
Noonan could still headed away from Shamrock Rovers during the current transfer window, albeit not too far abroad and away from his relatives. Hoffenheim, meanwhile, are shifting their focus elsewhere.
Hoffenheim seek to re-stock their reserve squad
The Hoffenheim reserves lost their leading goalscorer when 3. Liga star Ayoube Amaimouni-Echghouyab transferred to Eintracht Frankfurt near the beginning of the current January transfer window. Plettenberg notes that the Bundesliga outfit are still on the hunt for new attack-minded players to fill the TSG II squad.
Interestingly enough, Plettenberg brings the name of RB Leipzig prospect Yannick Eduardo into the mix. The Angolan-Czech striker still hasn’t made a Bundesliga appearance for his parent club and is now in the middle of his third loan out to club in Holland.
Leipzig could recall Eduardo early from his loan stint with FC Dordrecht and loan him out to a German club for the first time. Eduardo has done exceedingly well in the Dutch second division this year.
