Bournemouth’s Marcos Senesi on Borussia Dortmund’s target list

Sport Bild reports that Borussia Dortmund are keen on the idea of bringing Bournemouth centre-back Marcos Senesi on a free transfer next summer. The 28-year-old remains active with his Premier League club, but still hasn’t extended his expiring contract beyond the current campaign. The thrice-capped  Argentine international maintains a current estimated market value of €22m.

Dortmund face stiff competition for Senesi’s services

A free agent of Senesi’s caliber is obviously attracting interest from high profile clubs all around Europe. Juventus Turin, AS Roma, Chelsea FC, Brighton & Hove Albion, Everton FC, and Crystal Palace FC are also said to have the defender on their radar. Dortmund can likely off Senesi a high signing bonus, along with potential for playing time if he opts for the Bundesliga.

Borussia Dortmund still have much to offer Marcos Senesi

Even if German national team centre-back Nico Schollterbeck opts to extend his BVB contract, Dortmund will require more help in the central defensive corps. Niklas Süle is expected to depart on his expiring contract. Captain Emré Can still hasn’t extended his working papers. The resurgent Ramy Bensebaini generally prefers to play wide left.

Senesi could earn regular minutes alongside Schlotterbeck and Waldemar Anton.
