Sky Germany is currently reporting that Brazilian defensive gem Kaua Prates has agreed to terms with Borussia Dortmund. The 17-year-old left back is set to join his new Bundesliga outfit this summer after playing for his current Brazilian outfit Cruzeiro Esporte Clube. Dortmund have evidently stepped up their efforts to acquire the Brazilian U17 international now that German left back Almugera Kabar appears to be on the move to Hamburg.
Are there any obstacles in the way of the Kaua Prates deal?
Transfermarkt reports that Cruzeiro aren’t keen to let their player go, even going so far as to reject a €10m BVB offer. The German transfer portal quotes the sporting director of the Belo Horizonte-based club as stating that larger clubs have come courting the €6m-valued youngster, but Prates will not be sold for a fee concordant with the club’s wishes.
“We are in no hurry to sell, we are not looking to sell,” club sporting director Joaquim Pinto is quoted as saying. “We have already received offers from a world-class club, which we rejected because we felt they did not yet do justice to the player’s potential.”
