Hamburg professionals Robert Glatzel and Guilherme Ramos prepare to depart club

Hamburg professionals Robert Glatzel and Guilherme Ramos appear set to transfer out at their current Bundesliga club. Striker Glatzel and defender Ramos have seen a decent amount of action for Hamburger SV this season, but head coach Merlin Polzin can easily manage without both of them. Glatzel and Ramos are also both highly experienced in the top two German professional football divisions.

Glatzel falls prey to bad injury luck

The Hamburger Abendblatt reports that RSC Anderlecht have concrete interest in Glatzel, though an official inquiry has not been lodged. The 32-year-old – after spending most of the Bundesliga campaign on the bench – served as the HSV hero in a dramatic upset win over Stuttgart at the end of November. Unfortunately, the former Cardiff City professional immediately succumbed to injury afterwards.

Glatzel – a record goal scorer in the 2. Bundesliga – now faces slimmer playing prospects following the HSV acquisition of German-American striker Damion Downs. It looks to be the case that a separate interested party will happily take Glatzel and his career 94 2. Bundesliga goals on. The striker is presently valued at €1.5m.

Ramos long looked to be on the move

Ramos entered the current January transfer window on an expiring contract as counted as a “dead weight” player on the HSV squad. Germany’s Sport Bild tabloid reported yesterday that the 28-year-old will transfer to Chinese outfit Beijing Guoan. Interestingly enough, the German tabloid reported that the Chinese Super League club sent representatives to Hamburg to help Ramos complete his medical on-site.

At a press conference today, HSV confirmed that Ramos is absent from training as he negotiates with a separate club. Ramos’ departure from Hamburg after two-plus seasons should be confirmed shortly. Ramos presently maintains an estimated market value of €700,000 in the latest Transfermarkt listings.
