Kicker currently corroborates reports emerging in other publications regarding Eintracht Frankfurt’s next head coach. It appears as if Eintracht board-member-for-sport Markus Krösche – who offered up some interesting words on his quest to fill the position yesterday – is looking north in his search.
Will Jacob Neestrup head to the Bundesliga after all?
The FC Copenhagen head coach was heavily linked with a move to both VfL Wolfsburg and RB Leipzig this past summer. It remains unclear as to why Neestrup decided against moving south. Wolfsburg’s Danish managing director Peter Christiansen was reported to be quite keen on recruiting his former colleague. Neestrup simply opted to remain put.
In any event, Absolut Fußball claims that Eintracht want to convince Neestrup to join their project. Copenhagen’s current Danish SuperLiga campaign hasn’t gone well. The capital city outfit presently sits 5th in the table. The 37-year-old Neestrup, who has already won a title with FCK, may be persuaded to take on a new challenge.
Bodø/Glimt’s Kjetil Knutsen also a candidate
Kicker lends credence to a report originating in Sport Bild regarding Norwegian head coach Kjetil Knutsen. The 57-year-old has been leading the famous Eliteserien outfit since 2018, amassing more than his fair share of titles and honors. Knutsen may be ready for a new objective at this stage in his career.
