Borussia Dortmund’s Nico Schlotterbeck no longer a topic at Bayern Munich

Bild reports that Borussia Dortmund centre-back Nico Schlotterbeck is no longer a big topic at Bayern Munich.

The reason that the situation surrounding Schlotterbeck is changing is not only because Bayern centre-back Dayot Upamecano is close to extending his contract at the club, but also because Min-Jae Kim is happy to stay at the club too.

The Korean international has been relegated to a substitute player this season, but is willing to fight for his place in the starting 11. Only if Kim decides to leave Bayern, then Schlotterbeck could become an option again

On top of this, Marc Guehi remains a target for the Bundesliga leaders in the summer, but will face competition from the Premier League. While Hamburg defender Luka Vuskovic, who is on loan from Tottenham, has been offered to Bayern. The Croatian has impressed during his six months at the Volksparkstadion.

What this means for Schlotterbeck’s contract situation at Dortmund:

Obviously, with Bayern no longer showing interest in Schlotterbeck, it could make Dortmund’s hand stronger when trying to convince the 26-year-old to stay; however, they will still face competition from the likes of Real Madrid.
