Official | RB Leipzig swing shock loan deal for Brighton’s Brajan Gruda

Out of nowhere, RB Leipzig have announced that they’ve secured the services of Brighton’s Brajan Gruda on loan for the rest of the season. The German Red Bulls – seemingly content to stick with prospective singings this window – have opted to bring in the Speyer native for the rest of the season and immediately assign him the No. 10 tricot.

Brajan Gruda in the midst of subpar season at Brighton

Gruda scored just three goals and contributed three assists in 20 appearances across competitions this year. The former Mainz professional was known to find adapted to life in the Premier League rather difficult, but there still had been zero traffic in the rumor mills about Gruda returning to Germany until this blockbuster news broke.

Leipzig have perhaps found it prudent to react to the latest Assan Ouédraogo injury news by bringing in another Germany U21 international eager to make the leap up to the German national team. Leipzig have also been sputtering offensively as of late, scoring just five goals in their five league fixtures thus far in 2026.

In a short video statement released on the RB website, Gruda greeted RB fans and let them know that he “looked forward to seeing” them “this weekend”.
