Bayern Munich target and Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi could be sold this month, according to BBC Sport.
The Palace captain is being monitored by several European clubs, with the Englishman’s current deal due to expire this summer.
With the central defender not willing to extend his stay with the London club, they may be willing to sell Guehi this month in order to ensure that they don’t let their top asset go for free in the summer.
As per TransferMarkt, Guehi’s current transfer value is €55m.
Who Is Interested?
Current Premier League champions Manchester City could submit a bid for Guehi this month due to potential long-term injuries to Joško Gvardiol and Ruben Dias. This could then trigger other big clubs into the frame, who were possibly all happy to wait until the summer.
Elsewhere in the Premier League, Liverpool is also heavily interested, having come close to signing Guehi last summer, before the transfer broke down on the final day of the window.
Bayern Munich will also be monitoring the situation carefully, having previously shown an interest in the defender.
Previously, Bayern have stated that they don’t wish to be active in the winter, with the likes of Alphonso Davies and Jamal Musiala returning from injury almost acting like new signings.
However, with Bayern looking to re-strengthen their backline at some point this calendar year, they could be forced into a winter transfer should they not want Guehi to go sign elsewhere.
Alternatively, the player himself could sign a pre-agreement with an overseas club this month. This key market regulation could give Bayern an edge over Premier League clubs should Guehi favour a move to the Bundesliga.
