Sky Germany and Sport Bild – as relayed by transfermarkt.de – are both reporting that Eintracht Frankfurt have finally succeeded in offloading Aurelio Buta. The sources claim that Buta flew to the Danish capital on Thursday evening in order to complete an FC Copenhagen medical. Buta should be unveiled as a new FCK professional on Friday.
What are the details of the move?
Those remain sketchy at this point. The sources do claim that Eintracht Frankfurt will not receive a transfer fee for the 28-year-old. This seems plausible given the Bundesliga outfit’s multiple failed attempts to engineer some sort of move for the right back.
Whether Eintracht have simply dissolved Buta’s contract or negotiated a fee based on performance incentives remains unclear. A loan deal is not possible given the fact that Buta sits on an expiring contract, unless Eintracht have negotiated a new contract for their €3m-valued player.
Buta made just six SGE appearances this season. The former Portuguese U20 international featured in Dino Toppmöller’s starting XI once in the Bundesliga and earned a start against Tottenham in a meaningless Europa League fixture this past Wednesday.
