Nick Woltemade’s (23) Germany place at risk

After netting his third Premier League goal for Newcastle United in four games, Nick Woltemade’s place in the Germany squad is at risk in the upcoming international break.

The DFB confirmed that the 23-year-old would not be joining his teammates on Monday at the national team’s headquarters in Herzogenaurach due to a flu infection.

Woltemade has made Julian Nagelsmann’s last two squads, and has started in each of his four games against Portugal, France, Slovakia and Northern Ireland, but the former Werder Bremen and Stuttgart forward is still awaiting his maiden goal for the German national team.
