Germany has always been a football factory. The strength of both the domestic national competition and their national team was never in question. Back in the day, the top German talent always remained in the Bundesliga. Today, most money is found abroad, with the richest teams in the world competing in the Premier League and La Liga. Yet, the most valuable player Germany has at the moment plays at home, and as you could have guessed it, for Bayern Munich. Let’s start with the most valuable German player and the one that’s probably the best at what he does.
Jamal Musiala
It was not an easy decision for Jamal Musiala to pick the country to represent as he was eligible for both England and Germany. Today, we can say that he has made the right decision. The 22 year old playmaker is one of the best footballers in the world, and all that at such a young age. At 22 years of age, Musiala is one of the key cogs in the machinery that Bayern Munich is. Currently injured, Jamal has a worth of €140 million. Bayern is one of the world’s best teams, and the machinery of Vincent Kompany is playing a beautiful kind of football even without Jamal, who has suffered a gruesome injury during the preseason. Once he returns to full fitness, you need to look up where to bet on soccer, and wager a few bucks on Bayern going on an amazing run with Musiala running the show for the Bavarian giants.
Florian Wirtz
Germany has produced quite a few talents in recent years when it comes to attacking and playmaking positions. One of the lads that first described this description perfectly is Florian Wirtz. Born and bred in Leverkusen, the former Bayer prodigy became one of the most expensive footballers in the world during the past summer after Liverpool paid a tad bit over €113 million for his services. Renowned for his passing precision, playmaking ability, and running behind defences, Wirtz is capable of both creating chances for his teammates and scoring in the process. According to Transfer Market his current value is set at €110 million, and while he had a poor start to his Liverpool career, plenty is expected from Florian in coming years for both the Reds and the German national team.
Nick Woltemade
As we said, the top German talent plays abroad nowadays, and their favorite destination is the English Premier League. One of the latest players to make the switch is Nick Woltemade who joined Newcastle United from Stuttgart. The German international has had a nice start to his career in the north of England, and unlike Wirtz he hit the ground running at former St James Park. Newcastle paid close to €80 million for Nick’s services, and so far he has been a more than reliable replacement for Alexander Isak who moved to Merseyside. Right now, Nick Woltemade’s estimated value is set at €70 making him the third most valuable German footballer at the time of writing of this article.
Karim Adeyemi
Once again we have a player selling his talent at home. Karim Adeyemi is one of the main players for Borussia Dortmund, and with only 23 years of age his value is expected to grow. Right now he is priced at €60 million, but probably the team that plans to buy him would have to pay quite more for his services. During the summer there was interest from Juventus and Barcelona for his services but nothing materialized. Known for his pace, agility, and electric style of play, Adeyemi is one of the best counter attacking footballers in the world. With unique style and a left foot to boast, we can expect him moving away from Dortmund in coming years, increasing his value in the process.
Aleksandar Pavlovic
Another Bayern Munich stalwart makes the list. It is no secret that Bayern has the dibs on all top talent in Germany and that can be seen throughout their squad under Vincent Kompany who has introduced many youngsters to the first squad. One of the standout talents that came through ranks in Munich in recent years is Aleksandar Pavlovic. At only 21 years of age he is one of the top talents, not only in Germany but in the world too. His best years are ahead for him for both the Bavarian giants and for the German national team alike. While also eligible for Serbia, there was no doubt in Pavlovic’s mind that he wanted to represent Die Mannschaft. Right now, he is valued at €55 million, but considering his age, and the pace of his progress his value will only grow in the future. If he was to be sold his value would skyrocket but we can’t see Pavlovic leaving Bayern Munich in the foreseeable future, especially with Bayern being one of the favourites to win the Champions League according to sports betting outlets such as Stake.com.
Kai Havertz
Havertz is one of the most established German footballers playing abroad. After coming through ranks at Bayer Leverkusen he first joined Chelsea, before moving to his current side, Arsenal. Kai is also vital for the German national team making his current value of €55 million quite understandable. At the moment, Kai Havertz is injured, but once he returns to full fitness his value could grow, and compete with some of the top 5 men on this list. Often forced to play outside of his position, Havertz has proven his worth over and over again by playing at any of the forward positions, and also at the wing positions, for both club and country.
Angelo Stiller
The Stuttgart star is another proof that Bayern Munich produces some of the best German footballers at the moment. Also, he is proof that not everyone can find their purpose in Bavaria. After coming through ranks in Munich, Angelo Stiller moved to TSG Hoffenheim, where he was vital for the team and merited a move to VfB Stuttgart. In the meantime he also debuted for the German national team. At only 24 years of age, the best is yet ahead of Stiller, and his current value which is set at €45 million will only grow in the future, especially as he’s expected to move away from Stuttgart in coming years. The teams interested in his services are Manchester United, and Real Madrid who see him as a natural replacement for the retired Toni Kroos.
Joshua Kimmich
A prototype of classic German footballer, Joshua Kimmich has been a mainstay at Bayern Munich for more than a decade. While currently valued at ‘only’ €45 million, Kimmich is invaluable for his team, and while there were often rumours that he is moving to Madrid, Barcelona, or Manchester in the past he has persisted as the Bavarian machine captain, and we’re sure that he will see his career out with Bayern. Considering that Joshua is at age of 30, where his skills will slowly start to decline, it is hard to imagine him rising up on this list ever again, but his place right now is more than merited.
Malick Thiaw
Thiaw has had an interesting career that saw him moving between teams in Germany at a young age before he became a starter at Schalke 04. After two seasons with the team he moved to AC Milan where in three years he established himself as one of the rising defensive talent on Serie A. During the spending spree in Newcastle during the summer he joined the Tyneside together with Nick Woltemade, another German, in what’s building up to be one of the best Newcastle sides in recent years. Right now, Malick Thiaw is valued at €40 million, and if he continues his good start to career in the PL, this value will only grow in time.
Nico Schlotterbeck
At the moment Nico Schlotterbeck has a value of €40 million. Considering his contract status, this value will be much higher come the end of the season. Schlotterbeck is one of the best defenders in the Bundesliga, but with his contract expiring at the end of the season, seeing him play abroad next year would not be a surprise. Even if he extends his contract at BVB his value will be much higher in a few months time. With a rumored interest from the likes of Bayern Munich and Barcelona, and not to mention a plethora of Premier League teams, Nico Schlotterbeck is about to cash in on his talents, with his Transfer Market estimated price to receive an increase.
Kevin Schade
Another German international selling his trade in the English Premier League. Kevin Schade has been wise with making his business decisions to date, and at the moment he is one of the main players for Brentford. After a successful youth career for Germany, he is now playing for the senior team, in addition to being one of the main players at Brentford. Coming to England from Freiburg, it took some time for Schade to settle, but now, Brentford’s play revolves around his performances. Considering that Brentford is a selling team, and that they’ve helped the likes of Tooney, Wissa, and Mbuemo, to make big moves, naturally Kevin Schade is the next player in line to make a switch to one of the PL’s big six. Right now his value is set at €35 million, but once on the summer market, expect for teams to bid over €50 for his services which will make him move up on this list too.
Yann Bisseck
While already 25 years old, the best years are still ahead of Yann Bisseck considering the position and the league where he plays. One of the defenders for Inter Milan , he is still trying to settle with the team in a starting position which is usually a back three setup. After an interesting career that saw Yann Bisseck make his first steps in Koln, his career led him to Denmark with AGF, and after a stint in Denmark he secured a move to Milan. At €35 million in estimated value, Bisseck deserves a place on this list, and in the future we can see him as one of the more valuable players on this list especially if his career continues to move on an upward trajectory as it has so far.
Felix Nmecha
Nmecha is another footballer who was eligible to play for both England and Germany but decided to play for the German national team. At the moment, Felix Nmecha is one of the best players for BCB under Niko Kovac. Early in his career, Nmecha was playing for England’s youth setups and for Manchester City before making a career for himself in Germany with Wolfsburg. After moving to BVB, his career took off, and now he is making an appearance for the German national team too. A tenacious midfielder, Nmecha is currently valued at €35 million.
Jonathan Burkardt
A prototypical German forward, Jonathan Burkardt is one of those players we can see spending his entire career in Germany with his path leading him to either BVB or Munich down the line. At the moment he is making strides for Eintracht Frankfurt after making his move from Mainz 05 where he was the main player for years. His current value is €35 million, but if his good form continues, it will grow both this season, and in years to come. One of the best German U21 players in recent years, Jonathan made his senior debut too, but is yet to score a goal. If he manages to secure his place at the 2026 World Cup, €35 million is a price he will quickly outgrow.
At the moment these are the top 13 most valued German footballers. This list is subjected to changes as the price of footballers is decided by their performances and potential transfers. Considering the talent on this list, we’re not too far from altering the values of many of these boys in coming months.
