Sky Germany reports that VfB Stuttgart are interested in improving its striker options in the winter transfer window.
Racing Santander striker Jeremy Arevalo is one of the options at Mercedestraße. The 20-year-old has scored seven goals in 12 games in the Spanish second division.
Arevalo’s contract in northern Spain is valid until 2027, but he does have a release clause in the deal worth €7m. However, Stuttgart faces interest from fellow Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt as well as Serie A clubs AS Roma and Udinese.
If the Swabians complete the signing of Arevalo, he will eclipse the few that Bayer Leverkusen paid for Christian Kofane from Albacete in the summer (€5.25m) while RB Leipzig also dived into the LaLiga2 market when they bought Yan Diomande from relegated Leganes for €20m.
Stuttgart’s current striker options:
Stuttgart are currently low on their options for the striker position following the injury to Ermedin Demirovic earlier this season. Right now, Deniz Undav and Tiago Tomas are the only players who can play striker, but they are currently missing a recognised forward.
In recent weeks, VfB had been linked with Real Madrid striker Endrick, but the out-of-favour Brazilian is not of interest at Mercedesstraße.
