Schalke 04 could earn up to €15m with two transfers as another debt-focused summer looms

Cash-strapped Schalke 04 are once again ending another 2. Bundesliga season in the bottom half of the table. As the summer transfer window looms, the Royal Blues are possibly aiming to make between €13m-€15m with the sale of two top talents.

The objective for Schalke is clear: Sell a couple of top talents in order to reduce the debt and purchase potential talent in order to climb the table.

Who’s For Sale?

The first big sale of the summer could come from central defender Taylan Bulut. The 19-year-old German youth international was thrown into the deep end in February and has kept his starting XI place ever since.

Schalke were quick to extend the youngster’s contract until 2029 with a release clause of €8m. However, this release clause ends in the middle of May. With this in mind, both SC Freiburg and VfB Stuttgart are interested in the defender.

Now there is no release clause and interest is gathering, S04 will be hoping to cash in for no less than €8m. With room to negotiate, they could even try to hold out for €10m.

The other big sale the club could make is for their top scorer, Moussa Sylla. The 25-year-old was bought from FC Pau for €2m last summer and now has a transfer market value of €6m.

It was previously reported by GGFN that Serie A sides Juventus and Inter were looking at the forward in the winter transfer window. Back then, it was conceivable that Sylla could be sold for up to €10m.
