Marco Rose on his future: “It just has to be right, and maybe this time it’s going to be abroad.”

Speaking at SC Freiburg defender Matthias Ginter’s charity gala (via kicker), Marco Rose has commented on his future in management.

Rose has been out of management since being sacked as RB Leipzig head coach in March of this year. Despite several Bundesliga clubs switching head coaches, the German has remained unemployed since.

When asked about his future, the 49-year-old said:

“I definitely want to get back on the bench, but it doesn’t have to be today, tomorrow, or the day after… I believe the day will come. You’ll certainly see me back on a training ground and in the stadium…It just has to be right, and maybe this time it’s going to be abroad.”

The most recent club to show an interest in the former Leipzig head coach has been Rangers, where he was linked with the job not only in the summer, but also recently as a replacement for Russell Martin

Who could Rose manage?

If Rose would like to return to management in Germany, there is only one ‘big’, in all senses of the word, job available, and that is his former club Borussia Mönchengladbach. This would be completly differnet compared to the last time he took charge. This time, the German would have to lift the club out of this rut they are in and turn them into a team that can once again challenge for Europe.

Another that could become available soon are the Nottingham Forest job in England.
