Official | Werder Bremen sign Victor Boniface on loan

Werder Bremen have announced the signing of Bayer Leverkusen forward Victor Boniface (24) on a season-long loan, without an option to buy.

“We are pleased that we were able to complete the loan and secure Victor’s services,” said Werder’s Peter Niemeyer. “He has shown outstanding performances in the Bundesliga and has proven his qualities. We are convinced that he can continue that.”

On his move to the Hanseatic club, Boniface added: “The discussions with those in charge convinced me to make the move to Werder Bremen. I want to contribute with my performances in helping us achieve our common goals this season. I’m looking forward to my new team and my time at Werder Bremen.”

The 24-year-old arrives at Werder Bremen as a well liked personality during his time at Bayer Leverkusen. The Nigerian scored 32 goals and provided 12 assists in 61 games across all competitions – winning a Bundesliga and DFB Pokal title.

After a somewhat slow start to the transfer window, Bremen have ended well with the signing of Boniface, Isaac Schmidt and Yukinari Sugawara.
