Jonathan Burkardt to Eintracht Frankfurt is considered a done deal, according to Florian Plettenberg.
The all-time Mainz 05 top Bundesliga goalscorer is due to complete his medical with the eagles today and officially be announced as a Frankfurt player.
The 24-year-old striker will sign a contract until 2030 and sign for a deal worth €23m in total.
Originally, Mainz were hoping to receive a total package worth €30m for their star striker. However, Frankfurt sports director Markus Krösche never wished to meet the demands of the 05ers.
At first, it looked like the deal would come to a complete end, but ultimately, the player wanted the move, and a fee was agreed upon.
Frankfurt will now be looking at an attacking duo of Burkardt and Hugo Ekitike, who combined registered 32 goals in the league last season.
Meanwhile, Mainz will know seek to use the funds to reinvest in the squad.
