Official | Eintracht Frankfurt’s Niels Nkounkou joins Torino on complex loan deal

Eintracht Frankfurt fullback Niels Nkounkou’s loan out to FC Torino has been officially confirmed. As reported earlier, the Frenchman looks to be headed to the Serie A permanently via an automatic purchase clause tied to a low number of appearances. Nkounou’s Bundesliga outfit have also secured a €500,000 loan fee as part of the deal.

The 24-year-old looked to be in line for another shot in Hessen after returning to head coach Dino Toppmöller’s good graces via a strong training camp. Instead, Nkounkou will almost assuredly be ending the Bundesliga chapter of his career. The French Olympic representative scored three goals and registered three assists in 41 German top flight appearances.

Shortly before the Nkounkou announcement, Eintracht also confirmed Eric Junior Ebimbe’s departure on loan. The SGE squad now stands at 29-professionals. More arrivals are expected in the RheinMain metropolis before the transfer window closes later today. A Champions League team preparing to contest three competitions will need at least two more players.
