Nürnberg set to extend the contract of head coach Miroslav Klose until 2028

Sky Germany reports that Nürnberg are close to reaching an agreement to extend the contract of head coach Miroslav Klose.

Die Club has reached an agreement in principle with the former striker to extend his contract, which expires next summer.

Klose’s new deal will be valid until 2028, and it is expected to be signed before the end of the year.

The Nürnberg job is Klose’s second senior managerial role. Before moving to Franconia, the former striker held youth roles at former club Bayern Munich before taking charge of Austrian side Altach.

Nürnberg’s tough start to the season:

In his first season at the Max-Morlock Stadion, Klose led the club to 10th, but in the summer, they would lose several key players, including Caspar Jander as well as Stefanos Tzimas.

This meant that at the start of this season, there were doubts surrounding Klose with the club sitting 18th after five games. However, since then, they have only lost one of their last seven games and have climbed up to 11th in the 2.Bundesliga table.
