Fabrizio Romano has new information to convey with respect to Jarell Quansah’s impending Bundesliga move. The Italian transfer expert claims the Liverpool centre-back will head to Bayer Leverkusen via a €30m base-transfer-fee with €5m in add ons. Romano also reports that Liverpool have secured a buyback option as part of the deal.
The Athletic has slightly different figures to report. The American source speaks of a €35m base-transfer-fee with another €6m in performance-related bonuses. At present, The Athletic has nothing to say on Romano’s talk of a buyback clause. Romano himself doesn’t reference any specific figures.
Quansah’s move to the 2023/24 Bundesliga champions appears to be a done deal in any case. Germany’s most reliable footballing publication – in a report emerging earlier today – effectively confirmed that B04 sporting director Simon Rolfes has wrapped up the transfer in a personal visit to Slovakia yesterday.
All that remains is for Quansah to complete his Leverkusen medical following his current tour-of-duty with the England U21s at the ongoing UEFA U21 European Championship.
